busy bee

This week has gone by super slow. I have one more week of this class then I start my 2nd summer school class. So far I have an A and I have 2 more assignments to turn in... hopefully I wont screw up my good grade!

Last weekend was trishas 16th bday party. She had a cookout at the house... it was a lot of fun.

My mom and dad are coming up tomorrow until monday for fathers day. I cant wait! Friday night nick, ian, rocco and my dad are going to the phillies game and all the girls are goin to chickies! Should be a fun night. Saturday we'll prob go to breakfast and go shopping. Sunday we're havin a Fathers Day cookout at Rose's. We will be running around all weekend!

I have ONE MORE MONTH (and a week) til Nick and I are back in NC for Brookes wedding! I cant wait. I miss home so much! It will be a nice reunion since its been almost a freakin YEAR since ive been home!

Start of June....

Last weekend was Memorial Day weekend! We were pretty busy. Saturday we had a cookout at Nicks aunts house... they had their annual Baggo tournament. Nick and I got 3rd place... last year we got 2nd so maybe next year we'll come through with 1st!

After we left there we went and watched the Flyers game... The phillies were on the same time and Hallday had a PERFECT game! It was really a pretty awesome thing to see... Im glad I can say that I saw him throw a perfect game- I dont think its happened in 20 years or something along those lines.

On Memorial Day we went to the bar cause Nick had to bartend... they have a huge cookout there every Memorial Day, too. It was pretty fun. The Bughunters played and there was a lot of good food. Flyers were on again that night but they lost! The series has been pretty crazy!

This weekend was my Grandmoms Bday. I stopped over to give her her present Thursday afternoon. Nick has a softball game so I went to that and then back to work again! Friday I had work then we had the Relay for Life in Springfield. It started Friday at 1 but we didnt get there until 7. It was a really great time. We walked all night until Saturday morning. I had to take a nap at 3am cause I wasnt going to make it all night long. Sat I went home and went to sleep ! It was a long weekend but Im really glad we did it. I think it is def something we'll do every year.

This week I have a take home exam at school. I'll get my 3-5 page paper back tomorrow hopefully... Ishould have done pretty well on it... I hope so at least!

This month is going to be crazy busy! My parents will be here in 2 weeks- Im excited for that! STill not sure what to get my dad for Fathers Day but I guess I have a little bit of time to figure it out!

Sattenfield got engaged! Im so happy for her and Colin! The wedding is next May back at home... I cant wait to go home in July for Brookes wedding and meet him and celebrate her engagement, too!

Good News!

Im off work today. Class was also canceled tonight... ALREADY! Im off Monday for Memorial Day, too so I wont have class again until Wednesday! Big break already.

It is HOT HOT HOT today!

I found out yesterday that my best friend, Ashleigh, that has been in Iraq since January left yesterday. She is in another country til next week and on the 31st she'll be in Atlanta. She was supposed to be over there until the end of July, so hearing this was the best news Ive gotten in awhile :) I cant wait for her to finally be out of Iraq and HOME!! She is hopefully coming to Philly in the next few months to visit- i cant wait!!!

relaxing wkend

This wkend has been pretty low key. We didnt do too much.
Kyle and Steph came over and we watched the end of the Phils game and Edge of Darkness with Mel Gibson. I def recommend that movie! It was pretty wild.

I was supossed to wake up early and get my fishing license so Nick and I could go fishing today, but sleeping in was a much better idea. My schedule during the week is so hectic and it leaves me exhausted by the time the wkend comes around.

Tonight Denise and Rocco got tickets to the phils game so we are going over to watch the boys. I love them to death. They are such good kids and really entertaining. Joey is getting so big and says the craziest stuff. And Rocco is my little boyfriend :)

May flew by!

I wasnt too sure about this blogging thing. But life has been pretty busy lately.. Im very far from my closest friends... and I think this might help me get a little energy out in a different way than I am used to :)

First things first:
I started grad school at Cabrini this week. Monday was my 1st day. I am going part time, Monday and Wednesday for the first semester and the same for the 2nd semester.
So far, so good! The professor is pretty nice and the class seems pretty interesting. I am just very ready to get into a different line of work. The DA's office isn't a "HARD" job but it is filled with hours of bullshit and defendents that dont care about anything or anyone... this city is slowly going down the drain and I get the pleasure of watching those at fault each and every night in front of me. Its not so much a pleasure as it is a pretty scary reality.

Another scary reality is that in 10 days it will have been 1 year since Nick and I were jumped. Im not too sure how Im going to be able to handle that day.. or the days leading up to it. I haven't dealt with it all that well in this entire YEAR.. so im not sure if I'll ever really get over it. There are so many nights that I have the most vivid dreams- second for second replays of what happened. One minute we are driving. We're at the light. Nick is sleeping. I wake him up to tell him to look up ahead.. there are about 50 kids running down broad street. It didnt really register what exactly was going on but they are running everywhere.. in the street, on the side walk , hitting cars, kicking cars.. i have some surround my car banging on the class screaming at us and keep going... i open my car to get out (which this is the very moment I will regret for the rest of my life. the dumbest moment to date.) and scream back at them. I turn around to get back in my car and I feel my hair being pulled and next thing I know im being drug across broad street. i feel punches, kicks, i cant breathe, i cant move, im trying to cover my face but i just feel hit after hit. Im screaming for nick i hear him yelling for me and i look up and he is on the ground being kicked by 6 of them. all 4 doors in my jeep are open and my stuff is all over the street. nick is screaming he is spitting blood and thats when i realize he is covered in blood all over his face, his clothes, im not covered in his blood, the police come and from there is is a blur. I feel like every time I sit there and try to remember that night I remember different things, and more about it. I try not to but it is something that has changed everything about me...
The news later called them "flash mobs".
I guess I could really talk abuot this for hours, but it wont change anything. There have been 6 incidents since us... it is just another part of Philadelphia now... which is ashame. No one was caught, I never recovered my purse, jewelry, phone, or my life really since then...
